The basics
Crossword Generator (crossword.texs.org) is a free hobby project. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Your puzzles
You keep ownership of the puzzles you create. By publishing a puzzle to the Showcase you give us permission to display it publicly, alongside the title and author name you provide. You can ask for a published puzzle to be removed at any time.
Acceptable use
Don't publish puzzles containing content that is unlawful, hateful, or harassing, and don't attempt to disrupt or abuse the service (including automated scraping or flooding the AI clue generator). We may remove content or restrict access at our discretion to keep the Showcase a pleasant place.
AI-generated clues
Clue suggestions may be generated by AI. They're suggestions, so review them before publishing; you're responsible for the content of puzzles you publish.
Dictionary sources and licenses
Some fallback definitions and answer spellings come from Open English WordNet, Wiktionary editions processed through Kaikki/Wiktextract or DBnary, and Wikidata Lexemes. Depending on the source, this material is available under CC BY 4.0, CC BY-SA 3.0, CC BY-SA 4.0, or CC0 1.0. The complete source and attribution list records the edition, source URL, and applicable license.
No warranty
The site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. It's a personal project: features may change, break, or disappear, and published data may occasionally be lost. Keep local exports (JSON or .puz) of puzzles you care about.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site.
